Leatherneck basketball hosted its media day on Tuesday.

The men’s team opened things up with Remy Roberts-Burnett, Jordan Foster, and Michael Ocherobia answering questions.

Despite losing their top two scorers from last season, both Roberts-Burnett and Foster believe that with this year’s team, speed and athleticism will take over last year’s slow paced offense.

Head coach Jim Molinari also addressed that defense will still be a priority and displayed Western’s plaque for fewest fouls in the nation in 2012.

For the women’s team, head coach JD Gravina, and players Michelle Maher and Ashley Luke say that the team is ready to embrace the underdog role once more, as they were predicted to finish 6th in the Summit League.

The women will open up the 2013 season tonight vs Quincy. The men begin the season on Tuesday vs Knox College.
