WIU Women's Basketball Upcoming Games

The season has arrived, the WIU Women Leathernecks basketball team are back and ready to rumble! Western Illinois University hardworking Lady Leathernecks are up and pumping for another successful season. The women have begun their season with overall one win to one lost. In doing so, the Lady Leathernecks are expected to win more games throughout the season due to the new players added to the team! 

The ladies struggled in the opening game against Iowa State losing 65-84, however came back and triumphed a victory against Clarke University winning 85-35. Some key players include incoming freshmen from Homewood Flossmor Charnelle Reed, Ashley Luke, and Rebecca Henricson. The Lady Leathernecks have a long season ahead of them but are prepared for the road to victory! Head coach JD Gravina has done an excellent job with keeping the team together as one, and plans to lead the Lady Leathernecks to a winning game season. 

Come out and support the Lady Leathernecks in the next upcoming games for the season. The next game will take place on Tuesday November 27th, 2012 at Western Hall against Valparaiso starting at 7pm. On Saturday December 1st, 2012 the Leathernecks will be playing William Woods at Western Hall starting at 4:30pm. Come see the Lady Leathernecks win against their opponents!
