Pep Band to Play at Basketball Games
If you missed the Pep Band perform at the football games this fall, no worries. The WIU band will be present at several of the basketball games this season. They will perform at home games for both the men’s and women’s team to get Leatherneck fans fired up and into the action.
Wondering about seating? Don’t worry about that either. The band will be seated on the west end of Western Hall and will begin playing 30 minutes prior to the start of the game. This still gives fans plenty of room to sit and the band is easily viewable from anywhere in Western Hall.
In previous year’s, the pep band has brought more excitement to the games and have really ignited the whole environment for both athletes and fans. Therefore, they look forward to another season led by Conductor and Associate Director of Bands Matt Thomas.
The pep bands has a total of 65 members, but only 30-35 will play at a time for the scheduled games. If you’re looking for something to do, be sure to go and cheer on our Leathernecks with the Pep Band. Some upcoming games they will play at are Saturday,
December 8
when he men face Southern Illinois University,
Thursday
,
January 17
when the men face South Dakota State, and
Saturday
January 19
when the men face North Dakota State.
