Free Flu Shots
Flu season is officially upon us, but that’s no reason to fret. The Beu Health Center is offering free flu shots for all Western Illinois University students throughout the entire month of October. All students must do is show a valid WIU student ID card. The Beu will be holding several clinics in various places to ensure that everyone has a chance to get a free shot.
A clinic will be held in the University Union Concourse Tuesday October 9 through Thursday October 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you can’t make it to one of those sessions, you can also visit the Beu Health Center on Wednesday October 10 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for the seasonal shot.
The Beu will also be visiting residence hall dining centers. They will be in the West Quad Dining Center (Higgins) on Tuesday October 16 from 5 to 7 p.m., the North Quad Dining Center (Tanner, Bayliss, and Henninger) on Wednesday October 17 from 5 to 7 p.m., and finally the Corbin/Olson Dining Center on Thursday October 18 from 5 to 7 p.m.
For residents of Macomb without a student ID, Walgreens also offers flu shots. The Macomb Hy-Vee is also pairing up with the McDonough District Hospital and will be hosting a flu clinic on Thursday, October 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Hy-Vee pharmacy. The charge for that is $30.
