Fitness Lecture Series from personal fitness instructor Joey Gloor
He was featured on MTV’s show “I Used to Be Fat,” and now personal fitness instructor Joey Gloor is visiting WIU.
He will be hosting a mini fitness lecture series from October 2-4 including lectures, lifting sessions, and lunches.
Gloor has been motivating and inspiring his clients to achieve their fitness goals and make positive and healthy changes in their lives.
“The series is to address healthy living and the transformation and power of fitness,” Jessica Mueller, Assistant Director of Student Judicial Programs, says.
He will talk to people about how to incorporate healthy living choices into their lifestyles.
Mueller hopes people learn about Gloor’s journey and commitment to physical fitness and his success he’s had with his clients over the years.
“He’s coming here to address issues and work with people who are at any level of fitness, those who have never been in a gym or picked up a weight to programs that are more advanced, maybe lifters or those who are in the gym everyday.”
Gloor takes a fun and interesting approach to fitness and, “he’s a great guy to talk with and he’s going to be able to reach out to a lot of people on campus.”
The mini lecture series is a new adventure for Gloor, WIU is the first university he will be doing the series at, and he’s hoping to start similar college visits across the nation.
The series begins on October 2 with dinner in the North Dining Hall in Bayliss and Henninger Hall from 6-7:30 p.m. Gloor will be talking about nutritious meals and its benefits.
On Wednesday there will be different programs from 8:30 a.m. till 5:30 p.m. There will be lifting sessions, whole body workouts, a recreation fair, boot camp class, and lunch.
The series ends on Thursday with lunch in Corbin Hall at noon. There is also a lecture on how to incorporate healthy living into a hectic lifestyle. There will also be a drawing to win a one-on-one session with Gloor at Campus Recreation Center.
