Angel Tree Program Donates Gifts to Area Foster Children
The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) provides BAP with a list of children that includes their name, age, gender, size, and “wish list.”
The Angel Tree Program gives holiday gifts to foster care children and teenagers in McDonough, Fulton, Warren, Henderson, and Hancock counties.
"The generosity over the years has been overwhelming and we so appreciate the response to our annual project. We hope to help at least 60 children again this year." said Cheryl Westen, BAP adviser and accountancy instructor, to University Relations.
The goal is to give each child on the list three gifts.
If you’d like to participate in the program you can contact Becky Hall in the accountancy department at (309) 298-1152 or at RK-Hall@wiu.edu . Make sure to include your name, campus phone number, and campus address.
Once your donation is wrapped, please include the angel tag with the child’s name on the outside and write what the gift is, for example, toy or clothing. You can deliver your donations to the Department of Accountancy and Finance in Stipes Hall 418, by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3.
You can also do cash donations, and make checks payable to Beta Alpa Psi.
Food baskets will be given to families in need if the cash donations exceed the amount needed for the foster children.
