Melanie Stimmel.... "I don't have a single favorite museum. Every museum I have traveled to has been a favorite."

Melanie is a native of Iowa City, IA. She has a Bachelor of Art in Fine Art with a Psychology minor from Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, IA as well as a Museum Studies Certificate from the University of Iowa.

Melanie's previous museum experience includes a two year position with the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art as a curatorial intern under Registrar, Teri Van Dorston and sixth months as a Collections Technician with the University of Iowa Art Museum where she was part of an amazing effort in evacuation of the museum collections due to historical flooding in 2008.

Melanie has traveled to India and Mexico and plans to do more traveling in the future. Her additional goals include learning to fluently speak Spanish and secure a position with the Smithsonian Institution or the National Parks Service.

Melanie's favorite exhibits at the Figge Art Museum in Davenport include the Spanish Colonial exhibit and the Día de los Muertos exhibit.
