2010 Graduate
Kara, a native of the Quad Cities, graduated from Augustana College with a studio art degree. She weaves colorful strands of yarn into tapestries, creating two-dimensional works of art that are both abstract and representational.
She started weaving in 2001. She has also interned with the education department at the Illinois State Museum, taught several art classes to various ages, and worked as a gallery manager at Quad City Arts. Like tapestry weaving, she believes Museum Studies is a unique blend of traditional and contemporary concepts.
Today, Kara is an Education Specialist at the Putnam Museum in Davenport, Iowa.
