COFAC Faculty Hit the Road for Summer 2011
The talented and hard working faculty of the College of Fine Arts and Communication just don’t stop when classes end. Many of them will be performing and presenting and teaching off-campus this summer. Here’s a list of just some of their “extra curricular” work. Who knows? You may want to plan a trip to see one of the performances or presentations.

Moises Molina, professor School of Music, will be a guest artist with the St. Augustine Music Festival, St. Augustine, Florida. According to their website, The six-concert series opens on the weekend of Thursday June 16, Friday June 17 and Saturday June 18 the following weekend concerts start again on,Thursday June 23, Friday June 24, and Saturday June 25. All concerts start at 7:30 p.m. |

Jeannie Woods, professor Theatre and Dance, will be directing THE CONFLICT: A SOLDIER’S MEMORIES OF THE CIVIL WAR for The Starry Night Repertory Company. The play which was written by professor emeritus John Hallwas, will be performed May 26 to 28 in Hainline Theatre on the campus of Western Illinois University. |
| Eric Ginsberg, professor School of Music, will be in residence as faculty at Brevard Summer Music Institute. This is Eric’s regular summer gig. He’s been teaching at Brevard for 18 years! | |

Heidi Clemmens, associate professor Theatre and Dance, will be performing with Shelter Repertory Dance Theatre at the Minnesota Fringe Festival, August 8-14, in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota. |
| Christopher Carpenter, associate professor Communication, will present two papers at the International Communication Association Conference in Boston, MA on May 28th: The relationship between comprehension and persuasion and A test of the unimodel of persuasion using quantitative dimensions. | |

Roger Sadler, professor Broadcasting, has a gig as a news reporter at WQAD-TV in the Quad Cities. He reports on stories one day a week, and the reports air on their nightly newscasts. He does this every summer! |

Bill Kincaid, professor Theatre and Dance, will direct the Cortland Repertory Theatre’s production of CHICAGO in June, and then in August and September will play pianist Cosme McMoon in Cortland Rep’s SOUVENIR. SOUVENIR will be re-mounted soon afterward for one weekend only at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. |

Jason Conner, associate professor Theater and Dance, will play Carter in the Stage West Theatre Company production of FAT PIG June 23 to July 17. FAT PIG is one of three plays in Neil LaBute’s Beauty Plays Rep Series. Stage West Theatre Company presents Cool City Hot Theatre at the Civic Center’s Stoner Theatre in Des Moines, Iowa. |

Kelly Miller, assistant professor School of Music, will teach The Choral Director as Voice Teacher and other gems from the Choral Toolbox, July 25-27, here at WIU. Then she will hit the road and present Music Education Tools for High School and Middle School Choir Directors at the University of Nebraska at Omaha Vocal Directors Institute. |
