Members of the internationally renowned REYKJAVIK WIND QUINTET will join
the WIU CAMERATA WOODWIND QUINTET
IN CONCERT
Thursday, June 16th COFAC Recital Hall at 8 PM Note later start time.
Admission is FREE and OPEN to the public.
The concert includes Sextets by Beethoven and Reinecke
In June 2009, hornist Joseph Ognibene of the Reykjavik Wind Quintet from Reykjavik, Iceland joined the members of the Camerata Woodwind Quintet in a performance of Samuel Barber’s SUMMER MUSIC at the International Horn Symposium held on the WIU Campus.
This summer, Mr. Ognibene will be joined by Einar Johannesson, the clarinetist of the Reykjavik Quintet, and the members of the CWQ to present special sessions in conjunction with the Summer Music Camps, the Summer Music Seminars, and the WIU Summer Session.
With the presentations and performances by the guests from the Reykjavik Wind Quintet, as well as the members of the Camerata Woodwind Quintet there will be additional opportunities for music campers—as well as Seminars for area teachers—who may receive CPDU credits for participation in the sessions. This event is being hosted by Randall Faust, Director of the Western Illinois University Horn Institute—with additional support by the Performing Arts Society, the WIU Bands Outreach, and the Summer Music Seminars.
