Starry Night Repertory Theatre presents the world premiere of THE CONFLICT: A SOLDIER’S MEMORIES OF THE CIVIL WAR by John Hallwas.
THE CONFLICT will be presented Memorial Day weekend, May 26 through 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Hainline Theatre on the campus of Western Illinois University. The Box Office opens at 6:30 p.m. each night.
Set in 1911, on the 50th anniversary of the Civil War, THE CONFLICT features Civil War songs and poetry that relate both the glory and the suffering of war. This moving drama is a fictionalized account of one Illinois soldier, W. H. Hainline, who fought in General Sherman’s army and survived imprisonment at Andersonville, yet his family was torn apart by the war.
This thrilling drama features ensemble members Dan Woods and James S. Bleecker and guest artists Jacob Smith, Brooke Edwards, and Nathan Bush. Other cast members are Brian Clark, Jay Megan Sushka, Daniela Medina, T.J. Nicol, and Dick Vick. Jeannie Marlin Woods, Artistic Director of the company, will direct the production, with Lynn Thompson, Musical Director.
