Eberhardt and Mercer Show in Cincinnati: 1 of 9 Pairs!
Works by Brett Eberhardt and former student Kevin Mercer, BFA 2010, have been selected for inclusion in TAPPED at Manifest Gallery, Cincinnati, OH. Only nine teacher-student pairs were accepted.
The jury process for this very competitive exhibit resulted in the final selection of 18 works by 18 artists (nine pairs) to be displayed in the Main Gallery. Manifest Gallery received 755 entries from 330 artists for TAPPED! This is an extremely competitive show, and their work was considered exceptional by the jury.
Because of the exceptional nature of this exhibit, in a message to Eberhardt Manifest Gallery says,
Furthermore, I want to tell you that, considering the complicated nature of this project, we did not predict such an amazing response. It is quite inspiring to see former and current students and professors engaging in such a project as this one. It gets back to the heart of what Manifest was founded to do as a ‘creative research gallery’, and what we stand for as an organization. We are strongly considering adding TAPPED to our roster of annual recurring exhibits serving academia, adding it to Rites of Passage and Master Pieces as a view into what happens when art is pursued, explored, taught, and learned at the (mostly) college level. We look forward to sharing this insight with our visitors to Manifest during the exhibit!
