WIU Alum Kaericher Receives President’s Industry Award at PASIC 2010
Brock Kaericher, BB 1974, received the Percussive Arts Society President’s Industry Award at the 2010 Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) in Indianapolis, IN in November. Kaericher is the President of Remo, Inc. Remo, Inc. designs and produces drumheads.
A Drummer’s Drumhead Company
First and foremost, let’s get something straight. Remo® is a drummer’s drumhead company. After all, for over 50 years, Remo has constantly and consistently broken new ground when it comes to industry firsts. While we were doing what we do best, the competition continued to chase, follow and mimic our technological prowess. Better yet, by the time they even came close to catching up, we were already onto the next big idea. Ultimately, when it comes to our skills as a drumhead manufacturer, no one can touch the technical and musical advantages that Remo drumheads always provide.
“Every product we make is developed to meet the needs of the world’s most discriminating professional percussionists.” Remo D. Belli, Founder
According to the PASIC conference program,
The PAS President’s Industry Award was established to recognize those individuals in the Percussion Industry that have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their field and outstanding support of the Society….The visionary leadership of Kaericher has brought Remo, Inc. to new heights with innovations in world percussion instrument development, health and wellness through percussion, and of course drumhead manufacturing.
Kaericher says, “As I see it, my role at Remo, and Remo’s role in the world, is about much more than just making and marketing musical instruments: what we do has the power to change people’s lives.”
Thanks to Kevin Nichols, School of Music, for pointing out this exciting news in the PASIC convention program after returning from PASIC. Kaericher may be a business grad, but it is clear that music is his passion.
