Jia Rong Gan performs in the Brevard Concerto Competition Concert

Jia Rong Gan, junior violin major from Malaysia, attended Brevard Summer 2010 Institute, Brevard, North Carolina.  During the summer Institute, Jia Rong competed in the concerto competition and was one of five student winners.

Jia Rong played the 3rd movement of Saint-Saens violin concerto #3 on August 1, 2010, at 3:00 PM, one of five student competition winners who performed that day. She was accompanied by the Brevard Music Center Orchestra, conducted by Ken Lam.

Brevard Music Center provides a congenial summer community for young musicians of exceptional gifts. Four hundred students, from nearly every state in the U.S. and from several other countries, enroll each year. Students and a faculty of sixty live and work on the Music Center campus, 150 wooded acres in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina.
