Emily Terrell, a graduate student in the MFA in Acting program at WIU, has been awarded a travel grant from the WIU Graduate Student Research and Professional Development Fund.

With support from the grant, Ms. Terrell will travel to California to conduct interviews with persons working on the Mary Zimmerman production of THE WHITE SNAKE. This research is part of her exploration of semiotic analysis in the work of stage director Zimmerman.

Emily will follow up this research trip with further examination of the Zimmerman production of JUNGLE BOOK, now in development at the Goodman theatre in Chicago.

Emily has also been informed recently that she has been appointed as a Senior Fellow to the WIU Presidents Institute, a student think tank at Western Illinois University.

This think tank is run by students and supervised by a board of faculty and staff.  The Institute is housed in the Centennial Honors College at Western Illinois University.

Congratulations on all counts to Emily!!
