CSD Awards Scholarships
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is pleased to announce our 2012 – 2013 scholarship awardees. These four graduate students have set the bar for what graduate students can accomplish both in the classroom and the clinic.
Courtney Richardson of Havana, IL received the Rosalie and K. Norman Severinsen Scholarship. Courtney was nominated by faculty who noted her superior effort in the classroom and her ability to connect with clients in the WIU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic.
Gina Wheeler of Port au Choix, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada was awarded the Juanita Prickett Memorial Scholarship. Gina’s accomplishments include her dedication to the department and her ability to quickly synthesize information while working with clients in the clinic.
Cassandra (Cassie) Henry of Mt. Sterling, IL and Amanda Tse of Markham, Ontario, Canada each received the Lester B. and Frances E. Collins Memorial Scholarship. Cassie shows a strong commitment to her clinical caseload by taking time to investigate the background and research behind each client’s disorder.
