WIU Community Music School - Voice Lessons

Purpose

Voice lessons are currently being offered through the WIU Community Music School for singers of all levels and styles. Students study in a one-on-one situation with their private teacher, a WIU vocal major. Lessons are taught once per week and can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes in length.

Lesson Times

Lessons are currently offered Monday-Friday in Browne Hall. Lesson times and room locations in Browne Hall are arranged with the instructor. 

Voice instructor

Alison Huntley Hails from New Lenox, IL. She is a 2010 graduate of Lincoln-Way Central High School where she was a very active member of the music department throughout all 4 years. She was a member of Chorale, Madrigal Singers, and Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Alison participated in the Lincoln-Way Central musical productions of Guys & Dolls, Once On This Island and Kiss Me Kate.

In addition, Alison was selected to be a member of the All-State Honors Choir for two consecutive years (2009, 2010), where she proudly represented her high school at the Illinois Music Educators Association (IMEA) conference in Peoria, IL. Currently, Alison is a junior at Western Illinois University where she is pursuing a double degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance.

While at WIU, Alison has been a member of University Singers, Concert Choir, Madrigal Singers and Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Alison performed in WIU’s Mainstage Opera production of Gianni Schicchi, where she sang the role of Nella. Alison’s other performance credits include community theater productions of You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown (Revised) and The Secret Garden, where she played the roles of Sally and Lily, respectively.
