WIU Community Music School – Organ Lessons
PurposeOrgan lessons will be a new addition to the WIU Community Music School this year. Students of all ages from youth through adult who have had previous piano lessons or are currently studying piano are welcome and are encouraged to register for a one-on-one weekly private lesson. Using a "classical" approach the student will learn keyboard techniques specific to the organ as well as a history of the organ, organ registration, and organ literature. This is a unique opportunity for the student to discover another significant keyboard instrument.
Lesson TimesLessons are taught one per week and are arranged with the instructor. Lesson times can be 30, 45, or 60 minutes in length.
Lesson LocationsOrgan lessons are currently offered in Browne Hall on the WIU Campus in Macomb with the possibility of registration work and lessons on local church organs.
