My name is Cynthia Ridle. I received my Bachelor of Arts with a major in Communication from Western Illinois University in 1999 and a Master of Science in Education from Western Illinois University in 2003. I have been a full time faculty member at W.I.U. since 2004. My primary areas of teaching include introduction to human communication, public speaking, and interviewing. I am also the internship coordinator for the Department of Communication. I have been employed at Western Illinois Univeristy for 25 years. Prior to teaching full-time at Western Illinois University, I taught part-time at Spoon River College for 2 years and I served as the GradTrac Coordinator at Western Illinois University.
I have presented papers at state and regional communication conferences and have received recognition as one of the top ten overall submissions in the G.I.F.T.S. category at the national communication conference in 2010. In the spring of 2010 I received the College of Fine Arts and Communication Outstanding Associate Faculty Award, the Student Services Employee of the Month Award in 2000, the WIU Civil Service Employee of the Month Award in 2000, the College of Arts and Sciences Outstanding Civil Service Employee Award in 1995. As an undergraduate student, I received the Wayne N. Thompson Scholar Award in 1999.
