Quintin Parker, is an assistant professor and sports broadcasting director at Western Illinois University (WIU). Shortly after his 2008 graduation from the WIU Broadcasting Program, Parker started working as a professional television producer with WIU University Television Services (UTV). During that eight-year window, he earned two master’s degrees from WIU. One in Sport Management (2011) and the other in Instructional Design and Technology (2016). At UTV, he worked in all phases of production in live studio and remote situations. Parker has a solid understanding of the broadcast industries equipment standards as well as the planning, organizational and leadership skills needed to create quality productions.

In his fall 2017 debut as instructor/sports director, Parker brings a diverse outlook to the WIU Broadcasting & Journalism Program. Focusing on giving students a chance to combine multiple disciplines and create hybrid skills for their careers and business ventures. Student readiness for the job and business market is his main focus along with giving students solid practical experience and team leadership roles.

Through active community service in sport since 2003, he’s impacting lives as a coach, trainer and mentor. He enjoys coaching his daughter’s sports teams along with working with young athletes in the community. He also creates digital and print media artwork as a freelance photography/videography using video production, still image and graphic design techniques. Most of his artwork is focused on sports-centric themes, dramatic portraits and landscapes for use in television, social media and print ads.
