Art Teacher Education

The mission of the undergraduate Art Teacher Education program is to prepare future art teachers to meet the challenges of teaching in public school  at the K-12 grade levels. 

The degree prepares students for K-12 teacher certification in the State of Illinois. Preparation includes the development of technical and creative skills, exposure to a broad range of media, study of the theory and methods of art education, a background in the historical study of art and the required Education curriculum from the College of Education and Human Services.
