Nonprofit Leadership Alliance at Western Illinois University: The Curriculum
Students will work toward certification by consulting with the Non Profit Leadership Alliance advisor and completing the following requirements or their equivalents (prerequisites are indicated in parentheses):
I. REQUIRED:
- RPTA 199: Field Work in Leisure Services (or equivalent 100 hours in an organization) (1 sh) (Consent of Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Advisor)
- RPTA 270: Introduction to Nonprofit Organizations (3 sh)
- RPTA 470: Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Management Institute(0 sh) (RPTA 270)
- Internship: Required to include a minimum of 300 hours of direct involvement in a nonprofit organization (3 sh) (Consent of Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Advisor)
II. ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- EIS 201: Educational Psychology: Human Growth & Development (3 sh)
- FCS 121: Introduction to Lifespan Development (3 sh) (Gen Ed)

III. ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- RPTA 235: Programming Principles & Applications in Leisure Services (3 sh) (RPTA 111 or upper division)
- RPTA 428: Youth & Leisure Services (3 sh) (RPTA 230 or 235)
- RPTA 430: Principles of Recreational Sports (3 sh) (RPTA 111, 230 and 235)
IV. ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- RPTA 424: Fundraising & Volunteerism in Leisure Services (3 sh) (RPTA 322)
