The Accreditation Advantage

The RPTA program is accredited by the COAPRT, Council on Accreditation of Park, Recreation Tourism and Related Professions.  Accreditation by COAPRT guarantees that the courses that you take as an RPTA major will equip you with the knowledge and skills that you will need to succeed in the recreation, health and human services workplace.  Upon graduation, RPTA students are immediately eligible to take an examination to become a Certified Park and Recreation Professional . As well, graduates in therapeutic recreation are eligible to sit for the examination to become a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.  RPTA students can tailor their course of study to become certified in non-profit administration by the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. All of these professional credentials can help you gain the attention of perspective employers and distinguish yourself as a graduate of nationally recognized professional preparation programs.
