SFC Craig Watkins

SFC Watkins enlisted into the Illinois Army National Guard in 1999. He attended basic training and AIT at Ft. Leonardwood, MO and was awarded the MOS of 31B, Military Police Officer. SFC Watkins was stationed with the 233rd Military Police Company in Springfield, IL where he held the positions of team leader, squad leader, unit SARTS (small arms readiness and tactics) instructor, and was a member of the unit SRT (Special Reaction Team). While serving with the 233rd MP Co., SFC Watkins was activated in support of Operation Noble Eagle and deployed to Baghdad, Iraq in Support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. SFC Watkins currently holds the position of Illinois Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention NCO and is also an ROTC Instructor.

SFC Watkins is a graduate of the Primary Leadership and Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Special Reaction Team School and the Recruiting and Retention NCO course. While serving in the Illinois Army National Guard SFC Watkins completed a Bachelors of Arts in Administration of Justice from Southern Illinois University and a Master’s of Science Ed. in Workforce Education and Development also from Southern Illinois University. SFC Watkins Awards include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Medal, Army Service Medal, the Combat Action Badge and the Recruiting and Retention NCO Badge.
