CPT Joel Natalie arrived at Western Illinois University on 5 7 July, 2022. Previously, he commanded the Mountain Reception Company, the 52nd Theater Gateway and was a Battalion S1 in the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York.

He deployed for nine months to the Central Command Area of Responsibility from November 2019 until July 2020 as the TGPAT Commander; conducting reception, staging, onward movement and integration for all inbound and outbound personnel.

As a Lieutenant, CPT Natalie served as the Scout Platoon Leader, Rifle Platoon Leader, and Operations Officer in 2-35 Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division on Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. His three years on Oahu consisted of multiple Joint Readiness Training Center rotations, multi-national collaboration and surf call Thursday’s.

CPT Natalie is a graduate of the Adjutant General Captains Career Course and the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course. He has a Bachelor’s in Health and Physical Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania where he commissioned after ROTC. His awards include Meritorious Service Medal (1OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1OLC), and the Army Achievement Medal. Other accomplishments include the US Army Ranger School and the Expert Infantryman’s Badge.

CPT Natalie is married to Carly Natalie, who is a Registered Nurse at McDonough District Hospital. Their son James is 3 years old, and daughter Raegan will turn 1 in August.
