Dr. Jared Reed is a higher education administrator and instructor with over 10 years of experience working in community colleges, adult education/workforce development, student support services, and financial aid. Currently, he is Director of Financial Aid at a small, rural community college, in addition to serving as an adjunct instructor. Dr. Reed has been teaching since June 2010 and teaches graduate- and undergraduate-level courses. He is passionate about teaching and working with students to help them experience personal and professional growth throughout their educational journey.

Dr. Reed’s recent scholarship includes a co-authored book chapter on rural community college economic development in a New Directions in Community Colleges in 2019 and a peer-reviewed article forthcoming in the Spring 2022 volume of the journal Theory and Practice in Rural Education. He is an expert in rural community colleges and has presented his research at the Council for the Study of Community Colleges as well as the Rural Community College Alliance. Dr. Reed has research and teaching interests in community colleges, student affairs leadership and practice, student engagement, and organizational development, particularly community college organizational development.
