Graphic Communication

Students may complete an honors curriculum in University Honors, Upper Division Honors, or Lower Division Honors. All Honors students must complete the one-hour honors colloquium (GH 299). Lower Division Honors includes General Honors coursework. Upper Division Honors includes honors work in the major. University Honors combines Upper and Lower Division Honors.

The Graphic Communication Honors curriculum is designed for the honors student who wishes to participate in a wider and richer variety of technological and professional experiences than the average student. Students must complete requirements for a major in Graphic Communication.

Grade Requirements

  • 3.4 overall GPA
  • 3.4 GPA in honors courses

General Honors Requirements

  • Two General Honors seminars (6 semester hours)
  • An honors section of the First Year Experience (3 semester hours) (a General Honors seminar may be substituted in some cases)
  • GH 299 (one semester hour)

Departmental Honors Requirements

  • GH 299
  • 12 semester hours of honors courses in Graphic Communication. Any honors student enrolling in a Graphic Communication class may have his/her enrollment designated as an honors enrollment based on his/her request and at the discretion of the instructor. To receive honors credit the student must discuss the honors option with the instructor of record prior to enrollment and fill out an incourse honors form.
  • Two enrichment experiences. Enrichment experiences, which are usually non-credit, may include special seminars as developed by the honors committee, special research as assigned by other university faculty members, or an honors paper. Funds for research, seminar experiences, and honors papers may be available at the discretion of the honors committee.
