Centennial Honors College

Computer Science

Students may complete an honors curriculum in University Honors, Upper Division Honors, or Lower Division Honors. All Honors students must complete the one-hour honors colloquium (GH 299). Lower Division Honors includes General Honors coursework. Upper Division Honors includes honors work in the major. University Honors combines Upper and Lower Division Honors.

Honors students in Computer Science must complete all requirements for a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

Grade Requirements

  • 3.5 overall GPA
  • 3.5 GPA in honors courses

General Honors Requirements

  • Two General Honors seminars (6 semester hours)
  • An honors section of the First Year Experience (3 semester hours) (a General Honors seminar may be substituted in some cases)
  • GH 299 (one semester hour)

Departmental Honors Requirements

  • GH 299
  • 9 semester hours in the Computer Sciences including CS 496 (Senior Honors Seminar) or CS 497 (Senior Honors Project). The remaining 6 hours must be chosen from:
  • CS 396- Honors Seminar (3 sh, repeatable to 6 sh). The seminar topic will not be repeated during a four year period.
  • CS 496-Senior Honors Seminar (3sh, may be taken only once). The Senior Honors Seminar requires a significant written project.
  • CS 497- Senior Honors Project (3-6 sh, repeatable to 6 sh).
  • In-class honors completed in CS 410, 420, 460, 465, 470 (with a maximum of 6 s.h. of in-class honors)

University Honors
