Dr. MacKenzie Sidwell earned her PhD in 2017 from Mississippi State University. Also at Mississippi State University, Dr. Sidwell completed a MS in Psychometry in 2014. Prior to her graduate work, Dr. Sidwell received her BA in Psychology from Auburn University. Most recently, Dr. Sidwell served as a school psychologist for the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District in Houston, Texas where she also completed an APA accredited internship and post-doctoral training. Currently, Dr. Sidwell teaches courses in the School Psychology program at WIU. 


Dr. Sidwell teaches Introduction to School Psychology and Psychological Problems of the Child. As well, she is a university based supervisor of assessment for graduate students on practicum in local school districts. 


Dr. Sidwell’s current research interests include comparing the use of functional analytic procedures in assessment and intervention planning for disruptive behaviors in children with disabilities, school-based consultation for classroom behavior management, and sex-education and sexual abuse prevention for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities through parent training and behavioral skills training methods.
