Psychology of Substance Abuse
The Department of Psychology offers a psychology of substance abuse course sequence that students interested in addiction can take. Psychology of Substance Abuse is open to psychology and other majors too.
The Psychology of Substance Abuse allows interested students to pursue academic coursework in preparation for Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) in Illinois and a possible career in the field of addictions. A strength of Psychology of Substance Abuse is unifying themes, skills, and research in addiction and other areas within our psychology department (i.e., clinical psychology, social psychology, forensics, neuroscience).
