PAUL MUNDSCHENK SCHOLARSHIP IN RELIGIOUS STUDIES
This annual scholarship is named for Paul Mundschenk, who taught Asian religions at W.I.U. for over 30 years. Professor Mundschenk's primary focus in the classroom was on helping students gain an appreciation for the diverse ways in which all the world's religious traditions respond to the life-long human quest to understand life and the world more fully. In other words, he was interested in the journey of the human spirit, and in the relationship between religion and spirituality.
In keeping with Professor Mundschenk's interests, this scholarship is available to all religious studies majors who have a genuine interest in the manner in which religion in general is intended to help illuminate the human journey through life. A specific interest in Asian religions is a plus, but not required.
