African American Studies Department Chair Interviews

Three candidates for the Western Illinois University Department of African American Studies (AAS) chair position will be on the WIU Macomb campus for interviews Wednesday-Friday, November 16-18; Wednesday-Friday, November 30-December 2; and Sunday-Tuesday, December 4-6, according to Russell Morgan, College of Arts and Sciences interim associate dean and chair of the search committee.

Alphonso Simpson, associate professor and interim chair of the Department of African American Studies at WIU, will interview Wednesday-Friday, November 16-18. An open session for faculty, staff, and students will be held Thursday, November 17 from 1:15-2:15 p.m. in Morgan Hall 453 on the WIU-Macomb campus. A session with department chairs is scheduled the same afternoon from 3:30-4:30 in Morgan Hall 453.

Erik Brooks, associate professor and assistant to the dean of the college of liberal arts and sciences at Georgia Southern University, will interview Wednesday-Friday, November 30-December 2. An open session for faculty, staff, and students will be held Thursday, December 1st from 1:15-2:15 p.m. in Morgan Hall 453 on the WIU-Macomb campus. A session with department chairs is scheduled the same afternoon from 3:30-4:30 in Morgan Hall 453.

Karanja Keita Carroll, assistant professor and coordinator of the Department of Black Studies, SUNY New Paltz, will interview Sunday-Tuesday, December 4-6. An open session for faculty, staff, and students will be held Monday, December 5th from 1:15-2:15 p.m. in Morgan Hall 453 on the WIU-Macomb campus. A session with department chairs is scheduled the same afternoon from 3:30-4:30 in Morgan Hall 453.
