Undergraduate Research Day 2011

The College wishes to congratulate all of those students and faculty who participated in the 2011 Thomas H. Helm Undergraduate Research Day held Wednesday, April 20th. CAS students had 170 presentations at URD. This represents a 12% increase over last year (154 in 2010).

The following CAS students received awards for their presentations:


First Place — Mikala Mareno, Shannon Barry, Theodore Paul, Keeley VanVleet, and Julia Wiederholt
with Professor Shawn Meagher, Biological Sciences:

First Place — Collin Van Buren
with Professor Matthew Bonnan, Biological Sciences:
― Quantifying the Posture of Quadrupedal Dinosaurs: A Morphometric Approach‖

Third Place — Justin Venturini
with Professor Elgin Mannion, Sociology and Anthropology:
― Deterrent Effect of Police Presence across Illinois Counties on Total Index Crimes and Drug Arrests‖
