Department of Mathematics and Philosophy

Mathematics Advising

Students should expect to meet with their academic advisor at least once per semester. All students have an Advisor Encumbrance placed on their registration by the University and must meet with their advisor to have that encumbrance cleared prior to registering for the next semester. Keep in mind that you can meet to discuss your courses before your assigned Registration Appointment time and before your bill is paid. In fact, it is a good idea to have your meeting before then in case there are other issues that need to be resolved before your Registration Appointment.

The department undergraduate advisor is Dr. Boris Petracovici.  He may be reached at or (309) 298-2315. In addition, students should feel free to ask questions of any of our faculty regarding specific courses.
