LAS Program Advising

Dr. Amy Mossman is the interim director of the Liberal Arts and Sciences Program and is the advisor for the Master of Liberal Arts and Sciences (MLAS) program for the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses.

Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences (BLAS) Program:

Mr. Ralph Heissinger is the advisor for the Macomb Campus WIU Bachelor of Liberal Art and Sciences (BLAS) Program and Mr. Kenny Wheeler is the advisor for the Quad Cities campus. To schedule an appointment, contact them at:

Undergraduate students are required to schedule an appointment each semester to review degree progress.  After each consult with Mr. Heissinger or Mr. Wheeler, the advisor encumbrance will be lifted and the student will then be allowed to register for classes on STARS.

Integrated BLAS/MLAS Program (IBMP):

In consultation with the advisor for the MLAS program, Mr. Ralph Heissinger and Mr. Kenny Wheeler also advise those students who wish to complete their Bachelor of LAS and go directly into the Master of LAS. The Integrated BLAS/MLAS Program is designed for students to undertake coursework that qualifies for the MLAS while completing their coursework for the BLAS.

Undergraduate students are required to schedule an appointment each semester to review degree progress.  After each consult with Mr. Heissinger or Mr. Wheeler, the advisor encumbrance will be lifted and the student will then be allowed to register for classes on STARS.

Master of Liberal Arts and Sciences (MLAS) Program:

Graduate students are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment each semester to review degree progress.  For students planning to register for independent work (LAS 504, 667, 695, 696, or 699), an appointment is required to discuss the student's proposal for that work.
