ASH Presents: History Course Fair for Spring 2009

Oct 30, 2008

WIU History majors, History minors, and other students interested in History gathered with History faculty members for a Course Fair on Thursday, Oct. 30 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in Morgan 304.

History faculty were present at this special event, sponsored by the Associated Students of History (ASH), to help students figure out which of the Department's many upper-division course offerings to take next Spring. Faculty members spoke about their courses (topics, readings, expectations, and assignments) and answered questions students had about the new courses listed on STARS for Spring 2009. Drs. Chamberlin, Jelatis, Key, Leonard, Roberts, Starr, and Woell were all present to discuss their Spring courses, as well as Dr. McNabb (ASH Faculty Advisor) and Dr. Boynton (History Dept. Chair), who plugged their respective Spring 2009 sections of History 301.

Registration for Spring semester starts on 3 November, so the Course Fair provided an opportunity to help WIU students make some final decisions about which offerings they find most appealing.

Light refreshments were provided by the WIU History Department faculty, and by Micca Metz, in honor of her birthday.
