Apr 5, 2009
In Fall 2009, Dr. Timothy Roberts, Assistant Professor of History at WIU, will offer a graduate research seminar in US history (History 510) in which students will use printed literary sources to study nineteenth-century America. The course, in which students will engage in primary source research and analysis, will meet on Monday evenings this Fall, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m.
In this graduate research seminar, "Nineteenth century America through its Print Literature," students will use newspapers, pamphlets, novels, and periodicals to study the popular and intellectual culture, politics, and foreign relations of the United States from the early republic through the Civil War era.
