A Message from the Chair
Welcome to the Department of Geography webpage. We offer a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology ; a Bachelor of Science in Geography with options in Physical Geography, Human Geography, Geospatial, and Planning; a Master of Arts in Geography and two Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Programs: Community Development and Planning and GIS Analysis with two options -- Ecological GIS or GIS Applications.
We also offer a five-year program where you earn both the Bachelor's and Master's degrees .

Why study Geography or Meteorology at WIU?
Having both geography and meteorology expertise in one department offers students the opportunity to pair an understanding of cultural aspects and the physical world to address real world problems. Some of the assets of our department are:

We have a diverse range of research opportunities available to our students. Every student graduating from our department performs research that applies classroom knowledge to real-world applications. Some examples of these opportunities include:
