Congratulations to Megan Henderks and Loryn Rericha for passing the Japanese Languages Proficiency Test

Megan and LorynCongratulation to Megan Henderks and Loryn Rericha for passing the JLPT (Japanese Languages Proficiency Test) N5 level and obtaining their N5 certificates!

The JPLT is a test administered by the Japan Foundation. It is a prestigious languages test administered once a year in the United States and twice a year in some Asian countries to allow the students to prove their Japanese language skills. The JLPT Certificate is recognized worldwide as a proof of a student's Japanese language level. Many companies use it to measure a candidate's Japanese level. A N2 certificate will be a nice "ticket" for a candidate to enter a Japanese company.

  WISE Costa Rica Interest Meeting

Are you interested in studying in Costa Rica with WIU?

The Western Illinois Spanish Experience-Costa Rica program (WISE Costa Rica) offers a four-week immersion (in June 2014) in Spanish language and culture while also providing on-site guidance and mentoring by a Department of Foreign Languages faculty member. Excursions and tours of historical and cultural sites provide a greater understanding of Costa Rican history and culture. Lodging with host families improves your Spanish proficiency and gives you opportunities to make life-long connections. Extracurricular activities such as Costa Rican cooking, Tropical Dance lessons, and yoga classes allow you to explore other facets of Costa Rican culture and interact with your fellow WIU and Veritas students. Students from all majors are welcome to apply, even those without prior experience in Spanish.

Please see our program website here.
