University Writing Center

Macomb Writing Center Consultants

Our consultants come from diverse disciplinary backgrounds. We believe that the best person to tutor writing from a particular discipline is a person who writes in that discipline. In other words, the best person to tutor a lab report from biology is someone who has spent time writing in the genres valued by biology. Not only is the University Writing Center staffed by graduates students in English who are proficient in a number of different discourses, we also have consultants that specialize in psychology, history, computer science, theater, natural sciences, instructional design and technology, journalism, communication, and career writing.

I attended a Catholic high school in my home country, Jamaica. Right out of high school, I started working with the banking industry. This tenure lasted for short of ten years during which I also completed my bachelor's degree in business administration at a local university. I completed my bachelors and graduated in the summer of 2010. I continued in banking for over two more years afterwards. I then decided to continue my studies and started pursuing a graduate degree in Economics at WIU in 2013. I was drawn to the field because I'm interested in the development of the Jamaican economy. I enjoy listening to music, singing, and traveling. My appreciation of Jamaica and reggae music has increased significantly since being in the U.S., perhaps resulting from being homesick.
