Bill Knox is a composition and rhetoric specialist. Receiving his Ph.D. in English and Education from the University of Michigan, he has taught at Illinois State University and Northern Michigan University where he served as Director of Freshman English and charter director of the Honors Program. He has presented papers at a variety of state, regional, and national conferences on college writing and higher education. Professor Knox has also published a number of papers in the same areas. Some of his interests at Western Illinois University include sustainability initiatives (including the annual Environmental Summit and writing on local food) and teaching in the Centennial Honors College.
