Western Illinois University: Macomb Campus

A native of Mississippi, Alice has taught at Arizona State University, where she received her Ph.D in English, and SUNY Stony Brook, where she was associate director and director of the writing program there. She joined Western's English faculty in 1997 as director of the writing program. Her areas of specialization include rhetorical studies, composition, pedagogy, and southern women writers. At Western she teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in writing and literature, including courses for the General Honors College and courses cross-listed with Women's Studies.
