Virginia Rich of La Harpe admires screen-printed Christmas cards made by her grand-daughter and Western Illinois University student Tanisha Wisslead on Monday.

Kathy Neumann of Good Hope knows exactly where to go for the Christmas gifts her friends and family love.

“I come here most years to find unique gifts for the holidays,” said Neumann Monday as she perused the necklaces at the Western Illinois University Art Department’s annual Holiday Show and Sale. “And they are unique, aren’t they?”

Neumann, who is the associate provost and associate vice president of academic affairs at WIU, said she attends the Holiday Show and Sale, not just to find unique presents, but in support of the students.

The sale features ceramics, jewelry, prints, hula hoops and more, all of which come from students, faculty or alumni. The sales benefit WIU’s ceramics and metal clubs.

“I think that makes them extra special, really,” she said.
