Rathje “in motion” at University of Iowa

Terry Rathje is putting on a multi-session workshop at the University of Iowa on Motion Graphics during the last half of April and beginning of May.  This year’s workshop is dealing with making a motion portrait of one’s self and one’s work to build a motion portrait for a personal website.

Palacios Shows, and Shows, and Shows

Knavel Shows Work at Texas National

Jenny Knavel had three pieces accepted for “Texas National 2010” at the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art.  The juror was Judy Pfaff a past MacArthur Fellow.  Knavel received an “Honorable Mention” award.

Walters does Halloween Test Run at the Figge

Bruce Walters did his first test video projection on the exterior of the Figge Art Museum on April 8. This test is for projections on the Figge on Halloween 2010 and in Arts Alley in Rock Island for the opening reception of a solo exhibition a few days before.

WIU Faculty in 34th Annual Rock Island Fine Arts Exhibition

Art Department faculty are showing their work in the 34th Annual Rock Island Fine Arts Exhibition at Augustana College which runs from April 7 -May 2, including:

$995 Two-Dimensional Award in Memory of Bernice and Stanley Harris to Jan Clough for “Kaleidoscope” (pencil and gouache).

$100 Honorable Mention to Bruce Walters for “Changeling” (graphite drawing).
