WIU-QC at the Movies

For those alumni and friends who enjoy going to the movies in the Quad Cities, expect an extra treat when you visit the Showcase 53 Cinemas in Davenport during this summer's blockbuster movie season. WIU-QC is participating in a new digital advertising initiative at the Showcase 53 Cinemas. Before the films begin, movie-goers will see an animated WIU-QC ad on the big screen.

Using digital animation motion techniques, the static WIU-QC ad shown here will actually move. A purple screen will appear followed by each part of the ad moving into place piece by piece until the finished visual is up on the big screen. According to Director of University Marketing, Kristin Dunstan, "WIU is excited about the opportunity to use this new technology to promote our Quad Cities campus. WIU is a significant part of the QC region. Between our campus in Moline and the numerous alumni from both the Macomb and QC campuses that choose to make the QC their home, WIU is a large part of the QC community. As many of our alumni and current and potential students frequent the movies, Director of QC Marketing Tami Seitz and I thought this would be a great place to feature WIU-QC this summer."

The animated WIU-QC ad playing now at the Showcase Cinema 53 features WIU's messages of having the same in-state tuition rates whether a student lives in Iowa or Illinois in addition to showing our national "Best Midwestern College" ranking by The Princeton Review. The ad also features QC student Nicole Sutliffe. See you at the movies!
