The WIU Student Employee Supervisor of the Year was announced today at a luncheon in the Lincoln Room sponsored by the Vice President for Student Services. This is the fourth year that WIU has recognized a Student Employee Supervisor of the Year nominated by student employees.
Dr. Andrew Baker, a professor in the Agriculture Department, is the 2009 WIU Student Employee Supervisor of the Year. Dr. Baker was nominated by his student employee, Michelle Milstead. Michelle describes Dr. Baker as having a positive affect on her life in numerous ways. Whenever she feels overwhelmed, he encourages her. Because of his guidance and support, she has learned to balance the activities in her life a lot better than she did in the past. He has helped her develop professional and organizational skills. His guidance, support, and caring character have helped her excel as a student employee and will help in her future successful career. He will remain a positive influence for other student employees in the years to come. Dr. Baker is the recipient of an award certificate and a gift certificate donated by the WIU Union Bookstore.
