History Tutoring Information
FaceTime and Skype tutoring is offered by appointment during normal office hours (M-F 10am-3pm) and after hours by appointment. Email the Teaching Support Assistant that is working with your instructor to set up an appointment.

Online Options:

To schedule a video call appointment:

  1. Call the UAASC office between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at 309-298-1871 to set up a 30-minute appointment.
  2. Email tutors directly between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Mondays, and 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Wednesdays at tutoring@wiu.edu. For tutored course availability, please refer to the Online Tutoring Spring 2018 flyer located at the bottom of Rocky’s Resources web page.

 How to use Hangouts with UAASC tutors:

  1. Use Chrome as your web browser on a desktop or laptop computer.
  2. Sign into your WIU email account.
  3. Open up Google Apps and look for Hangouts (it might be under the “More” section).
  4. If it’s your first time opening Hangouts, you’ll see a brief slide show introduction.
  5. Once in Hangouts, click on the “Contacts” icon (left side of the screen).
  6. Next, press the “New Conversation” button and add tutoring@wiu.edu to your contacts.
  7. A new message window will automatically pop up on your screen.
  8. Click on the “Video Call” icon (top left side of the message window) to connect with a tutor.

To use email tutoring:

Please send your questions to tutoring@wiu.edu and include your name, course name and student ID number in the email subject line.

Please note tutors are only available for email tutoring on specific days and times. Responses to your questions emailed before or after tutoring availability will be significantly delayed.

*If the online option is not listed as a format above, then online tutoring is not available for that particular class.
