Developmental Academic Advising
Academic progress is monitored closely by an advisor. The Participant Agreement specifies that students will meet a minimum of eight times during the semester with their advisor – that’s about every two weeks. Developmental academic advising involves more than just selecting courses for each semester. In addition to helping students select courses and explore various majors, advisors make sure students are aware of tutoring and of the other resources on campus to help them succeed. Advisors encourage students to set and achieve goals and to develop the kinds of study and personal habits that will lead to success.
