About the Program
Overview
The Department of Accountancy provides a student-centered environment that promotes academic excellence, professional and personal growth, a spirit of collegiality, and ethical and professional conduct. Students enrolled in the accountancy program who plan to take the CMA, CFE, or CPA examinations will have the opportunity to select from the following programs:
- The Bachelor of Business in Accountancy (120 s.h.) with an emphasis on Management Accounting and preparation for the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Certified Fraud Examine (CFE), or Similair Certification exams.
- The additional Master of Accountancy (150 s.h.) with an emphasis on Financial Accounting and preparation for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.
The Accountancy programs are available both at the main campus in Macomb and at the Quad Cities (QC) campus in Moline. The Quad Cities campus is an upper-division campus that enables students to transfer from community college or other colleges to complete their junior and senior years.
In addition, the department offers a minor in accountancy.

Other Information
Advising
Accountancy students are required to meet with an advisor prior to registering for classes; all advising is done through the College of Business and Technology's Advising Center.

Student Organizations
Accountancy students are encouraged to become active members of the student organizations affiliated with the department.
