Classroom Support Services

Classroom Support Services was created to address the diverse need for classroom equipment and technology support at Western Illinois University. Classroom Support Services offers a full range of audio and video expertise, and works with campus entities to enhance classrooms with new technologies to facilitate teaching and learning.

Classroom Support Services maintains the campus classroom inventory, and along with the University Technology Support Center, provides real-time classroom assistance at 298-2704.

Classroom Support Services is responsible for the maintenance and operational support of technology in designated general-purpose classrooms, as well as providing training assistance in the use of classroom instructional technology.

Classroom Support Services also offers design and technical support for Distance Education and IP-based video conferencing, as well as works closely with colleges, departments, and service units in enhancing advanced technology in classrooms and other campus settings.

Classroom Support Services began supporting the deployment of new classroom technologies as part of the Electronic Classroom Program initiative in Fall 2008 academic year. The program has identified 90 classrooms for upgrade within the first three years with an ultimate goal of developing ongoing funding and support so that all WIU and WIU-QC classrooms can become electronic classrooms.
